Set off on an enchanting day trip to the magnificent Atlas Mountains from Marrakech, commencing right at your door step witha a hassle-free hotel pickup at 08.00 AM. Then we drive to The Atlas Mountains through Ourika Valley, showcasing Morocco’s most well-preserved valley landscapes.

This scenic destination is not only highly popular in the High Atlas region, but it is also conveniently located near Marrakech, so traveling here won’t take much of your time.

Once there, we will hike to the river to really experience being at the heart of this nature sanctuary. For those seeking a unique adventure, there is an option to explore the valley on camelback.

Immerse yourself in the breathtaking vistas of the charming villages clinging to the flanks of the massifs, the captivating waterfalls, and the rugged landscapes that seamlessly blend with the vast desert. This harmonious coexistence in the heart of the Atlas Mountains creates an untamed allure that is sure to captivate visitors.

After an hour from Marrakech, the first stop along the valley will be in Ourika village. Here, you will have the opportunity to visit an authentic Berber family home. Gain insights into their rural lifestyle, witness the process of making traditional Moroccan mint tea and indulge in a delectable Berber breakfast prepared by the family.

Then we will partake in a brief camel ride, allowing you to relish in breathtaking vistas of the Atlas Mountains. Continuing deeper into the Atlas Mountains, we will arrive at Setti Fatma, an area that boasts seven waterfalls.

The first waterfall is easily accessible and can be reached in a short time. However, to explore the remaining six waterfalls, one must follow a winding path that delves deeper into the mountain. It demands considerable skill, balance, and the occasional jumps to conquer. Completing this expedition can be time-consuming, lasting several hours.

However, the beautiful landscapes, calming atmosphere, serene environment, and silence are well worth the effort and time. Lunch can be taken at a local restaurant (approximately $15/menu) offering a breathtaking view of the Atlas Mountains while you discover the best of Moroccan cuisine.

Afterward, we will arrange a visit to a women’s cooperative, where you can witness the authentic process of extracting argan oil. This cooperative is a hub for traditional practices, and you will learn about the historical and cultural significance of argan oil in Moroccan society.
