Welcome to our private 4-day Tangier tour to Marrakech via Merzouga! Today, we begin our journey with a pickup from your hotel. As we set off, we will traverse through the enchanting Rif Mountains and the city of Tetouan commonly referred to as the white dove of North Morocco.
Then we will make our way to the captivating town of Chefchaouen, famously known as “the blue pearl of the north” or “the blue city.”
As we wander through the streets of this charming destination, you will immediately understand why it has gained such a well-deserved reputation. The entire town is painted in shades of blue, creating a serene and surreal atmosphere.
Here, there are many things to explore. For instance, we will visit the first building in the Medina, a kasbah museum where there are photos and info about the city. And of course, we will visit the Grand Mosque, a stunning landmark that stands tall amidst the sea.
Moreover, we will walk through the blue and white streets to the Ras El Ma waterfalls that flow through this picturesque town. You will also have the opportunity to sip on refreshing mint tea in the grand square, called “Plaza Uta el Hamam.”
Before we continue our journey to Fes, we will enjoy a delicious lunch on one of the rooftop terraces, where you can savor local cuisine while soaking in the panoramic view of the magnificent mountains that serve as a backdrop to this unique town.
Overall, we will ensure that you have wonderful sightseeing of the whole medina and admire its blue buildings and take photos before heading to Fes, where we will spend the night in a well-appointed hotel.
After enjoying a delicious breakfast at our hotel in Fes, our adventure continues from Fes towards the enchanting Sahara desert, passing through the magnificent High and Middle Atlas mountains.
This leg of our journey promises breathtaking views of nature, making it a true highlight of all Morocco tours.
Our first stop will be Ifrane, often referred to as “little Switzerland”. This town will captivate you with its European-inspired architecture and pristine cleanliness. We will take a break for a refreshing cup of coffee and marvel at the magnificent Atlas lions carved into a rock.
Our next stop will bring us to the beautiful cedar forest in Azrou. As we wander through the forest, keep an eye out for the mischievous wild monkeys that inhabit the area. Feel free to interact with them, feed them, and capture some incredible photos to remember this unique encounter.
Later on, we venture through the Tizi N-Talghamt pass to Midelt, passing by the impressive Ziz Gorges formed by volcanic rock. Take pleasure in the picturesque views of the Middle-Atlas plateau while observing the gradual transition of the scenery, which gradually unveils subtle hints of the desert as one approaches the city of Errachidia.
After lunch, we’ll visit Erfoud, an area known for its fascinating fossils, if you are interested we will visit one of the fossil factories. Our journey then takes us through the imposing High Atlas, where we’ll be treated to the breathtaking vistas of the Ziz Valley.
Finally, we will arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara desert. Prepare yourself for a truly unforgettable experience as we embark on a camel trek into the heart of the Erg Chebbi sand dunes.
The gentle sway of the camels and the golden hues of the desert create an otherworldly atmosphere, especially as the sun begins to set. The camel trek through the dunes will take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to the camp.
At the camp, you’ll be immersed in the authentic nomadic Berber lifestyle. Spend the night in the tranquility of the Sahara, surrounded by the majestic sand dunes. Indulge in a hearty Berber meal prepared by our skilled chefs, served under the sparkling stars.

As the sun begins to rise over the Sahara Desert, we encourage our guests to wake up early to witness the breathtaking spectacle of the desert sunrise. The ever-changing colors of the dunes create a mesmerizing display, making it a moment to cherish forever.
After a hearty breakfast at the desert camp, we embark on a camel ride towards Merzouga village. From there, we’ll hop into our comfortable vehicle and drive towards the ancient town of Rissani to discover its old and traditional markets.
En route, we have the opportunity to explore Tafilalet, the region from where the Alaouite dynasty of Morocco originates.
During our journey, we will come across the Todra Gorge, a massive canyon shaped by the Todra River for centuries. We will explore the gorge on foot and experience the breathtaking cliffs and picturesque water springs flowing between rocks, offering fantastic chances for photography.
Continuing our drive, we will arrive in Boumalne dades nestled at the foothills of the majestic High Atlas Mountains. This town serves as the gateway to the stunning Dades Valley and is known for its unique rock formations aptly named “Monkey Toes” due to their resemblance.
The rock formations, along with the fertile greenery nourished by the Dades River, create a picturesque setting that is a joy to explore.

Our last day of the 4-day tour from Tangier to Marrakech via the Sahara desert begins with a drive through the scenic Dades Valley towards Kalaat Mgouna and Ouarzazate.
Our first stop will be at the edge of Rose Valley, where we can visit a cooperative to learn about the production of rose flower products. It’s fascinating to see how these beautiful flowers are transformed into various products.
Next, we’ll make our way to Ouarzazate, a city famous for its association with the film industry. Many famous movies have been filmed here, and if you’re interested, we can visit one of the Atlas Studios to see the sets and learn more about the film-making process.
After exploring Ouarzazate, we’ll continue our journey to the renowned Ait Benhaddou Kasbah. This UNESCO World Heritage site has been featured in numerous popular movies, including Lawrence Of Arabia, Gladiator, and Kingdom Of Heaven. Its well-preserved architecture and stunning views make it a must-visit destination.
We’ll have lunch in Ait Benhaddou Kasbah. Afterward, we’ll continue our trip and pass through the Tichka Pass, reaching an altitude of 2260m, over the high Atlas Mountains. This mountain pass is both scenic and adventurous, providing an excellent opportunity for memorable photos.
As we make our way towards Marrakech, we’ll stop along the way for a refreshing coffee break and a visit to an argan cooperative. Here, you’ll have the chance to witness the traditional process of making argan oil and learn about the health benefits of this precious Moroccan product.
Finally, our 4-day tour from Tangier to Marrakech via the Sahara desert will come to a close as we drop you off at your accommodation in Marrakech.
